3.4U Inspection Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise offshore inspection campaigns in compliance with client and international standards (e.g., DNV, API, IMCA).

  • Interpret and assess data collected through ROV, diver, or platform-based inspection methods.

  • Review and prepare inspection work scopes, procedures, and risk assessments.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, including anomaly detection, engineering assessments, and recommendations.

  • Coordinate with ROV and survey teams to ensure data quality and project objectives are met.

  • Ensure compliance with offshore safety protocols and environmental regulations.

  • Liaise with clients, onshore engineering, and data processing teams during and post-mobilization.

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior inspection personnel and trainees.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certification: Valid CSWIP 3.4U (Subsea Inspection Controller) certificate is mandatory.

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Marine, or Offshore Engineering (preferred).

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in offshore inspection roles.
    Proven track record in ROV-based inspection campaigns.
    Familiarity with CP, FMD, UT, MPI, and other NDT techniques.

  • Offshore Requirements:
    Valid BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS.
    Valid offshore medical certificate (OGUK or equivalent).
    Passport eligible for international offshore travel.

Preferences

  • Strong report writing and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, both onshore and offshore.

  • Experience with inspection software such as Neptune, NEXUS, or similar.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
