Job Summary
The Subsea Client Representative acts as the client’s on-site focal point during offshore operations. This role ensures that all subsea activities—ROV, diving, geophysical survey, construction, inspection, and maintenance—are executed in accordance with the project scope, HSE requirements, and industry standards. The representative monitors contractor performance, ensures compliance, and facilitates communication between onshore and offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
Represent the client on offshore vessels, barges, or platforms during subsea operations.
Monitor and verify that all subsea activities are carried out in line with project specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Act as the liaison between the client, contractor, and vessel crew to ensure clear communication and proper execution of the work scope.
Oversee safety compliance and participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety briefings.
Review and approve daily reports, progress updates, and as-built data.
Witness critical operations such as equipment mobilization, ROV dives, CP surveys, FMD inspections, ACFM, pipeline/free-span rectification, or mattress installations.
Validate that offshore documentation (drawings, method statements, permits) is current and accessible.
Report deviations, non-conformances, or incidents to the client project team.
Ensure proper data acquisition, video recording, and survey logs are maintained for client review.
Coordinate with third-party surveyors, auditors, or certification bodies onboard.
Provide a detailed end-of-trip report summarizing operations, observations, and lessons learned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, or equivalent) or relevant technical certification.
Minimum 8 years of offshore experience, with at least 3 years in a Subsea Client Rep or similar supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of subsea construction, ROV/dive operations, IMCA, and offshore HSE standards.
Valid offshore survival (BOSIET/FOET), HUET, H2S, and medical certificates.
CSWIP 3.4U, IMCA Client Rep, or similar certifications (preferred for inspection roles).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with reporting tools, digital logs, and video review software.
